Welcome to slangdoll.com
Featuring
links to the Slangdoll Facebook. Merchandise, up-to-date news, downloads and much more. This
coming year is going to be different with Slangdoll writing new material for the first time since they called it quits nearly 2 years ago. Slangdoll's original 2 members have re-located to Toronto from London where they performed in and surrounding areas from 2004-2006. Nearly 2 years have past. Former touring guitarist Grady left the band in 2005, and they also lost long time bass player Yamzz and new comer Ivanov during the official death of Slangdoll in early 2007. J.Jenkins (Drums) & N.Weichel (Guitar/Sing) are taking it back to how it was when it all started. Watch for exciting new Slangdoll material in 2008.

Do you consider yourselves a metal band?
Who fucking cares? Ha-ha. I mean, we have songs that are metalish but... I think we are classified on our myspace as Glam / Christian Rap / Black Metal.
Are you seriously Glam/Christian Rap/Black Metal?
Ha-Ha...
Will there be any more videos from Slangdoll?
We love making videos. We love shooting them, acting, editing, doing special effects work, everything! We had a video shoot in September 2006 for concept footage for our song "Lovers" and we had a video shoot in October 2006 for all the scenes with the band. We really wanted to do a video in the fall in this awesome location near Parry Sound at a swamp for the song "Red Drenched", but due to complications we scrapped that idea and went a head with a simple acoustic song. I'd love to do a video in the winter. I think snow looks amazing on film. I'm always messing around with video. Anyway you slice it, you'll see video releases from us in the future, but in most cases you'll only be able to see them on our website or Facebook.
What are the steps your taking towards
broadening your musical horizons?
You will noticed there is much more character in my vocals. Container Poison was recorded very early and extremely fast. We had basically just written the songs a few months before recording them. That’s how I wanted it though, really raw and who cares if it's perfect or not. I actually wanted mistakes. You'll find that if we play an old song from C.P. that it sounds a lot different. My point is that a lot of things especially the vocals didn't really come across how I wanted them too. We are certainly broadening our musical horizons.
What are your favourite Slangdoll songs? And why?
My favorite songs are 'Red Drenched', 'Bloodthief', 'Decision Mine' and 'Midnight' but I actually like them all! If you ask me that same question at a later date, i'm sure i'd give a different answere.
'Red Drenched' because it's so fucking heavy! 'Bloodthief' for the lyrics deep meaning. 'Decision Mine' because that song has my favorite drum part in it and last but not least, 'Midnight' because it truly shows the soft and heavy nature of slangdoll in one song. I really love how this song expresses Slangdoll as a band. Josh's favorite songs are 'Grace', 'Midnight', and Abaft the Looking Glass.
What are your plans for 2008?
We are really looking forward to jamming again. We have spent 3 years playing in Ontario about 4 shows a month doing a lot of shit on our own. We played a few very large shows such as a show with Gob at the Docks in Toronto and with Britt Black in London but, the best shows we have played are the metal shows that we have played with Excruciating Thoughts, Died in the Wool, Seething, Papa Fougels Chair, Dismata, and the list goes on and on. We want to start playing more shows in Toronto and write a new album. |
